Block Printing
This work was the start of my journey into the idea of magical realism, and is a piece I made whilst learning the process of reductive print. I continued to be more intentional with my lines, forming the noise to look like the grass and rain within this fictional environment.
As I continued to develop my style of printing, I got more comfortable with the intentional use of negative space, and pushed the use of texture within my pieces. I also began to push the idea of casual magical symbolism within my pieces.
My final piece within the class referenced the imagery made in my piece “Gaze” whilst also continuing my use of texture, and negative space. I wanted to show this motif of this star shown within my pieces to symbolize the idea of magic itself.

Screenprinting
Through this piece I wanted to talk about connection to others and the loss and grief you feel when someone leaves your life.
This whimsical piece depicts a fairy circle, in this piece I tried to convey a feeling of nostolgia and childlike discovery within the viewer.
This abstract piece was made using a variety of found objects that were given to me as tokens of love. Each silhouette shows some form of connection with others in a cohesive piece.
Through this piece I wanted to talk about connection to others and the loss and grief you feel when someone leaves your life.

This piece is a figure drawing of a woman laying, completion time was 45 minutes.

Dürers Pillows is a replication of the famous work by Albrecht Dürer in 1493.
